Welcome to VATUSA! This signup process is only required for those members wanting to as an Air Traffic Controller (ATC) anywhere within the VATUSA Division. In order to be an ATC in VATUSA, you will need to be a member of VATSIM assigned to the North American Region and the United States Division. You can check this by entering your CID at THIS LINK. The page will tell you if you are correctly assigned, and if you are not, you can make the required changes on the VATSIM website, and try again to complete the ATC signup process here. Please note that if you have just joined VATSIM, it can take up to 24 hours for our system to update with your new CID and other information. The ATC signup process at VATUSA is

• Verification of VATSIM Region and Division Assignment
• Initialize your VATUSA User Account
• Take and pass Basic Controller Examination
• Select your home ARTCC
• Report to your home ARTCC and begin your training

NOTE: Joining VATUSA and passing the Basic Controller Examination does NOT authorize you to get online and just start providing ATC services anywhere within VATUSA! Whether you are a new controller to VATSIM or are transferring or just visiting, you MUST join an ARTCC and complete all required steps there first.
