Heads up for those planning to fly tonight -

The weather has already taken a turn for the worst and it is forecasted to get worse as the event time rolls around. We anticipate that the Bay will be in our Southeast Plan for the entire event. This means San Francisco will be down to just one runway for arriving traffic (19L). Expect delays and please plan your fuel accordingly. See you guys there!

Just for a little context - right now as I write this, the real world SFO is delaying aircraft an average of 138 minutes at their departure airports and the acceptance rate is 28. That's 28 planes an hour landing in San Francisco. We're going to do our best to accommodate you all tonight, but please bare with us.

To say it's pretty nonstandard is an understatement, but do you all plan to implement some type of a TMU or just inbound holds should it get too bad?

We'd like to have a TMU but we just don't have the man power. We expect the bulk of traffic to come from ZLA so we've coordinated 20 MIT with them, which will potentially be increased if needed, and good old fashioned holds. If it comes down to it we'll do a ground stop and let the traffic trickle out but we're going to try our absolute best to not have that happen. Southern California is expecting similar weather so it's going to be a wild ride tonight.

And to add to that, since the same weather system is hitting us at ZLA, there's a good chance we'll be in East Ops as well at LAX. I'll let Ethan chime in on this, on what we'll be doing then. We're already in East Ops now, so we're expecting some fun!
