The Houston ARTCC is looking for a motivated individual who possesses a high degree of energy, professionalism, and commitment to serve as the Events Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
What does the EC at ZHU do?
- Reports to the ATM and DATM, as well as working professionally and respectfully with neighboring facilities and divisions.
- Maintains an online presence within the community and on the VATSIM network.
- Oversees the Events Team.
- Upholds and maintains ZHU Events policy.
- Create events to generate traffic and market the ARTCC.
- Develops and distributes marketing materials to promote ARTCC events.
- Implements and oversees ZHU ARTCC events.
- Acts as CIC/TMU during ARTCC events when able, or designates an events team member on their behalf.
- Coordinates with neighboring ARTCCs to arrange support for internal events.
- Coordinates with neighboring ARTCCs to provide support.
- Maintains relationships with fellow community members, as well as VATUSA staff and subdivision teams.
Requirements:
What MUST you have or be able to do to apply?
- Must be able to work professionally with other team members and subdivisions.
- Must hold at least an Terminal Controller (S3) rating with over 75 hours on position, or hold a C1 rating (preferred).
- Must be an active member of the VATSIM network in good standing.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and manage a team.

What will set you apart?
- Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience (real world or VATSIM applicable).
- Familiarity with Houston ARTCC policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with interpreting and using various TMIs and TMU tools.
- Demonstrate the qualities of understanding, patience, restraint, respect, and professionalism.
- Previous staff (or real world work) experience.
