The New York ARTCC (ZNY) is seeking a qualified, professional, and motivated individual that possesses a high degree of energy and commitment to serve as the Deputy Air Traffic Manager. Applicants should note that this position requires a significant time commitment.
Key Responsibilities
Reports to and serves at the discretion of the ATM. Attending staff meetings and representing the ARTCC as a Senior Staff Member. Ensuring that members comply with ZNY, VATUSA, and VATSIM policies. Assisting the Air Traffic Manager (ATM) in the management of ZNY. Overseeing daily ARTCC operations. Front-Line Manager to the Facilities, Events, and Administrative Departments. Assists in the development and execution of ARTCC projects & initiatives. Maintains an online presence on VATSIM. Assumes the duties of the ATM when they are unavailable. Any other duties which help to accomplish the mission, goals, and vision of ZNY.
Minimum Requirements
Currently hold a rating of Controller 1 (C1) or higher for at least 90 days at the candidate’s current facility. Possess a high degree of energy and commitment appropriate to the requirements of the position. Have no significant disciplinary record or history of unprofessional behavior. Be an active member of the VATSIM network in good standing. Strong knowledge of the U.S. National Airspace System and its procedures. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
