The Cleveland ARTCC (ZOB) is seeking an experienced, motivated, and innovative Training Administrator (TA) to lead our Training Department. We are actively welcoming applications from across the network and are looking for a candidate who can bring fresh perspectives, compelling training capabilities, and effective leadership to our facility.
Key Accountabilities
- Reports jointly to the Cleveland Air Traffic Manager (ATM) and the VATUSA Training Director (VATUSA3).
- Manages and leads the training program to ensure it is effective, engaging, and efficient for all ZOB controllers.
- Recruits and maintains an adequate staff of instructors and mentors to meet the facility's training needs.
- Updates and maintains training website materials, lesson plans, and the certification system.
- Maintains a high online presence on the network and within the community.
- Performs duties of a staff instructor.
- Develops and implements modern training policies and procedures.
- Functions as a core ARTCC staff member, attending periodic meetings and collaborating on facility-wide initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the ATM.
Required Skills
- Must be an active member of the VATSIM network in good standing with a clean history.
- Currently hold a rating of Controller (C1) or higher.
- Currently serving (preferred), or previously served, as an Instructor within VATUSA.
- Strong knowledge of the United States and VATSIM ATC systems.
- Strong knowledge of FAA Order 7110.65.
- Must be highly adaptable and capable of succeeding in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desired Skills
- Teaching/Education experience (on or off VATSIM).
- Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience.
- Real-world aviation experience.
- Experience transferring to or assisting multiple ARTCCs (a plus for external applicants).
