VACANCY | ZME Facility Engineer (FE) [CLOSED]

The Memphis ARTCC (ZME) is seeking a motivated, dependable, and technically-minded individual to join our staff as Facility Engineer (FE). ZME is a growing ARTCC committed to providing a welcoming community, quality training, and realistic facility operations. The Facility Engineer plays a key role in maintaining the tools and data that keep our controllers operating efficiently. Applicants should be prepared to work collaboratively with staff and dedicate time toward the continued improvement of our facility.

Duties:

  • Reports directly to the Deputy Air Traffic Manager (DATM).
  • Maintains an active presence within ZME and the VATSIM network.
  • Attends ZME staff meetings as required.
  • Maintains, updates, and manages facility files, video maps, sector files, aliases, and other resources within the vNAS Data Admin.
  • Evaluates and recommends controller tools and software for implementation.
  • Maintains the Facilities bug reporting system within the ZME Discord and promptly addresses reported issues.
  • Serves as the Team Lead for the Facilities Team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by ARTCC leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Holds an S3 rating or higher. Applicants holding an S2 rating with previous Facilities Engineering or technical experience may also be considered.
  • Is an active VATSIM member in good standing.
  • Is a member of ZME or is willing to transfer upon selection.
  • Is proficient with CRC and other commonly used VATSIM ATC software.
  • Works effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new technologies and controller tools.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Holds a C1 rating or higher.
  • Previous ARTCC staff experience.
  • Familiarity with ZME airspace and procedures.
  • Knowledge of GeoJSON.
  • Experience configuring CRC.
  • Experience maintaining facility files or other technical resources.

Expected Commitment:

  • Approximately 2–4 hours per week, depending on ongoing projects.
  • Attendance at staff meetings as needed.
  • Timely completion of projects and bug reports.
