The Memphis ARTCC (ZME) is seeking a qualified, professional, and motivated individual who possesses a high degree of energy and commitment to serve as the Deputy Air Traffic Manager. Applicants should note that this position requires a significant time commitment and is not an entry-level position.
Key Responsibilities
- Reports to the ATM.
- Serves as the front-line manager for the Facilities, Events, Technical (Web), Social Media, and Community Engagement departments.
- Monitors the day-to-day activities of the ARTCC.
- Assists in the development and execution of ARTCC projects.
- Maintains an active online presence within the VATSIM network.
- Functions as a senior ARTCC staff member and attends periodic meetings to report on ARTCC activities.
- Assists in coordinating position assignments and position restrictions when necessary.
- Assumes the duties of the ATM when they are unavailable.
- Performs any other duties assigned by the ATM.
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently holds a Senior Student (S3) rating or higher and has held that rating for at least 90 days at the candidate's current facility.
- Works well in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrates excellent leadership skills.
- Is an active member of the VATSIM network in good standing with no significant disciplinary actions within the past 12 months.
- Possesses a strong knowledge of U.S. airspace and air traffic control systems and procedures.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Holds a Controller 1 (C1) rating or higher.
- Previous or current ARTCC staff experience.
- Has held an Instructor 1 (I1) rating for at least 90 days prior to the application date.
- Supervisory or management experience in a virtual or real-world environment.
